Keyword or Phrase |
| A single word utilized in an Internet search
is called a Keyword. Phrase describes two or more keywords used simultaneously. DETAILS: People use keywords to search the Internet. A single keyword; i.e. "Homes" or "House", will return millions of websites. By adding "state" the number will be reduced to thousands, add "town" and the number of websites returned will be drastically reduced. When more than one keyword is entered into a search engine's address bar the entry is called a phrase. Most real estate searches utilize a phrase that contains; " one or more keywords, plus state and town" (Miami Florida real estate or Winston Salem NC homes). Depending on the population of an area a real estate search phrase will usually return several thousand websites although major cities can produce hundreds of thousands ("Los Angeles California Real Estate" returned 514,000 options on Google - "Portsmouth New Hampshire Real Estate", a town of 25,000, returned 37,600 options). Your objective is to have your website rank in the top-10 when a specific phrase is used. The more phrases that work well for your website, the more often it will be found. Once you are able to achieve a high ranking, content becomes a websites most important feature. |
